Forgot the Passcode of your iPhone 5 Easy Steps to Reset Passcode

If you have forgotten the passcode of your iPhone, you can reset it using the following steps:

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes (or Finder on macOS Big Sur or later).

  2. Put your iPhone into recovery mode:

  • If you have an iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the "Volume Up" button, then press and quickly release the "Volume Down" button. Finally, press and hold the "Side" button until you see the recovery mode screen.
  • If you have an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus: Press and hold the "Side" and "Volume Down" buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
  • If you have an iPhone 6s or earlier: Press and hold the "Home" and "Top" (or "Side") buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
  1. When you see the "Connect to iTunes" or "Finder" screen, release the buttons.

  2. In iTunes (or Finder), you will see a message saying that your iPhone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. Click "Restore" to reset your iPhone to its factory settings.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the restoration process. Your iPhone's passcode will be reset to the default passcode (0000), and you can set a new passcode by following the prompts during the setup process.

Note: Resetting your iPhone will erase all data from your device, so make sure to back up your data before starting the process.
